On 15 March 2013 Reinier de Lang had a meeting in Jayapura with Mrs. Lien; she informed Reinier of having established a facebook group to communicate with the alumni - already 300 alumni have joined this facebook group. The alumni want to organize a brain storm session before August 2013 which will result in a master plan established regarding = the building = the teaching team; this master plan will cover a period of 10 years. Special attention will be given to the quality of the teaching process. Mrs. Lien will see to it that Hapin/Werkgroep SMA Gabungan will be kept informed about the plans and progress. On 20 March Reinier and Derek Windessy (director of Pt. Hapin in Jayapura) paid a visit to the SMA school. Presentlty the school has 297 pupils. Reinier wrote meeting minutes which contained the following conclusions: 1. All stakeholders (say everyone involved with the school) should share the same vision on the future of the school. I would recommend to have a meeting with all stakeholders about the plans for renovation of the school. Alumni Papua, the both Churches, the Board, the staff and management, government and other stakeholders, because the masterplan you were talking about last Friday needs a broad commitment of everyone involved. 2. If there´s no shared vision and commitment of stakeholders we are thinking about using the funds of Alumni Belanda for support to individual students or an investment in computers for the school. In the meantime staff of the school will make a list of priorities that could be the start of a project plan financed from funds of Alumni Belanda. Pt. Hapin will be involved in this process for the assessment, execution, monitoring and evaluation and reporting of the project. |
